Transformation for the Common Good
We physically transform and connect the greater North Loop area for the common good of people, businesses, and the greater Minneapolis community.
NūLoop Partners came out of the 2010 Partners and 2020 Partners and was established to support and enhance development in the neighborhood around Target Field and Target Field Station in 2007. It successfully filled that and other roles for 17 years. After years of focus in the North Loop of Minneapolis, leadership determined that the time had come to declare success and sunset the organization. The final meeting of NūLoop Partners was held on July 23, 2024.
The purpose of this website is to document the history and efforts of NūLoop Partners, to appreciate the many people and organizations that carried out the work, and to provide a record for future efforts when the need should arise.
This website also holds the records of community-based and professional planning done from 2019 to 2024 for an area currently known as the Root District—the underdeveloped area around the future Royalston LRT Station and the historic Minneapolis Farmer’s Market. This area is important because:
It is a key station on the Blue Line LRT Extension
It is immediately adjacent to downtown Minneapolis and is roughly equal in size to the Central Business District
It is the location of the largest Farmer’s Market in the Metro Region
It was the subject of an international Net Zero Imperative study by the Urban Land Institute
The planning work focused on Climate, Equity and Creativity—all grounded in best urban design practices
The North Loop Neighborhood Association has volunteered to serve as the ongoing host of this website and advocate for its mission.
